The Family Medical Clinic of Harrogate was established in 1971. The practice has remained a primary care provider to several generations in the community. Located in northeast Tennessee, the practice has many patients in both Kentucky and Virginia as well as Tennessee. George L. Day, MD
Graduated from University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis in 1958, then did rotating internship at Nashville (TN) General Hospital, before returning to Harrogate, TN where he has provided medical care to the citizens of the Tri-State area for the last 52 years.
Dr. Day enjoys time with family, his church, farming, hunting, and Civil War artifacts; and he is an avid reader.
John M. Robertson, MD
John M. Robertson, M.D. is a native of Harrogate, TN. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He then received Doctorate of Medicine from St. George’s University. He later accepted a Family Medicine residency position at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Once his three years of post-graduate medical training were complete, Dr. Robertson moved home to practice with his mentor, Dr. George Day. In his free time, Dr. Robertson now enjoys being with his wife Amber and playing with his 2 dogs, Dottie and Mazie.
Elizabeth “Liza” A. Green-Larew, FNP-C
Liza is a native of Middlesboro, Kentucky. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 1995. She also completed her Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of Arizona in 2000. She is Board Certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She joined our staff in 2007. She has years of experience in pediatrics, including pediatric ICU, and neonatal ICU, as well as general pediatrics. Nurse Practitioner experience includes urgent care and pediatric urology at Dayton (Ohio) Children’s Hospital. Liza loves biking, running, water skiing, and baking. She loves time with family and friends. She is passionate about taking care of her patients, and being a part of FMC because the patient comes first.
Sarah Barnard, PA-C
Sarah is a Claiborne County native, currently residing in Tazewell. In 2009, she received her bachelor’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Medical Technology. She graduated from LMU’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) program in 2011. She worked as a PA for 6 years prior to coming to FMC of Harrogate. She is a member of Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church in New Tazewell. She enjoys hiking, exercising, and spending time with her husband, Nick, as well as son, Collin, and their dog, Sam.
